MAEKO and MTCC: Certified Timber and Food Waste

MAEKO and the Malaysian Timber Certification Council signed a collaboration at IGEM 2025, bringing responsible material sourcing and waste recovery into one conversation.

Direct answer

What did MAEKO and MTCC sign?

On 16 October 2025, MAEKO and the Malaysian Timber Certification Council signed a Memorandum of Collaboration at IGEM in Kuala Lumpur. Chelsea Chee signed for MAEKO and Dr Farrah Shameen Mohamad Ashray for MTCC.

The agreement concerns collaboration on responsible sourcing and waste recovery. It does not certify a MAEKO machine.

What the collaboration covers

The partners aim to encourage MTCS/PEFC-certified timber and forest-based materials in MAEKO's sustainable solutions. They also plan to explore awareness programmes, sustainability campaigns and training initiatives.

Why it matters to buyers

Responsible procurement considers both where materials come from and what happens to them after use. This collaboration connects those priorities while keeping product specifications and certification scopes distinct.

For a machine enquiry, ask us for the documentation for the model and installation you are considering.
